There was much talk in the astrological world lately when some astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society revealed that, because of the moon's gravitational pull on the earth, plus some movements farther out there in the universe, the zodiac cycle has moved earlier by about a month. This caused a lot of stir among people who believe in the zodiac because this is the first such change in the last few thousands of years.

According to Minnesota Planetarium Society board member Parke Kunkle, this gravitational pull caused a "wobble" in the axis of the earth, causing this change in alignments. Among these changes is the addition of a 13th horoscope, Ophiuchus. A lot of people refused to believe in this and said that they will continue with their previous signs, but a lot fell for it immediately and started looking for answers in their new signs.

However, with all the discoveries and advancements seen around us, why is it only today that this is discovered? How come astrologers did not find out about it when this is the case for the last few hundred years? The answer to this is that astrologers have known about this for a very long time already. It's just that the horoscope that you usually see in newspapers and websites are based on Western astrology and not Eastern astrology.

Simply put, sidereal astrology is the one described by the astronomers of the Minnesota Planetarium Society, Sidereal astrology uses the clusters of stars in order to interpret our future. This is widely practiced by divination experts in the East, primarily in Vedic cultures.

In contrast, Western astrologers used tropical horoscope, which focuses on the seasons and the positions of the Sun's rays to determine the future.

These two branches have been there for a very long time already. So this piece of news from astronomers are not exactly new. However, since you now know what sidereal horoscope is, you can use this in order to change signs if you don't like your old one.
